Namibia Digital Dollar (NADD) Launches NADD Pay, Namibia’s First WhatsApp-Native Stablecoin Payment Infrastructure
OSHAKATI, Namibia — May 21, 2026 — NADD (Namibia Digital Dollar), Namibia's privately issued blockchain-native stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Namibian Dollar (NAD), today announced the official launch of NADD Pay on WhatsApp, a WhatsApp-native digital payment access layer designed to enable users to send, receive, withdraw, convert, and transact with NADD directly through WhatsApp.
Built on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), NADD Pay extends NADD's existing blockchain settlement infrastructure into a familiar messaging environment already widely used across Namibia and broader regional markets.
The launch represents a significant milestone in the development of digitally native payment infrastructure designed to support real-time payments, merchant settlement, wallet interoperability, programmable financial services, and cross-border transaction environments.
Through NADD Pay, users can:
- Send and receive NADD directly on WhatsApp
- Transfer NADD instantly between users
- Convert NADD to USDT and USDT to NADD through integrated digital asset settlement infrastructure
- Withdraw NADD to compatible BEP-20 wallets
- Use USDT as a global liquidity and cross-border interoperability rail
- Access blockchain-native payment functionality through a simplified conversational interface
Transactions processed through NADD Pay utilize blockchain-based settlement infrastructure designed to support transparent transaction verification, operational reconciliation, and digitally native payment workflows.
NADD Pay operates on top of NADD's underlying treasury, ledger, wallet, blockchain settlement, audit, and FX infrastructure while integrating live conversion mechanisms and blockchain transaction verification systems.
The platform is also being developed as a broader digital settlement hub designed to support interoperability between stablecoins, mobile money systems, and regional payment corridors, including planned future interoperability with ecosystems such as M-Pesa across Africa.
“NADD Pay represents the next phase of programmable payment infrastructure. By integrating blockchain settlement rails into familiar communication environments such as WhatsApp, we are simplifying access to digital payments while building infrastructure capable of supporting broader financial interoperability across Africa and regional markets.”
— Simon Kapenda, Creator of NADD
NADD Pay incorporates operational controls including encrypted wallet infrastructure, role-based access management, transaction audit logging, treasury reconciliation processes, blockchain transaction monitoring, and controlled settlement workflows designed to support secure digital payment operations at scale.
